The lodge Activities Coordinator will be holding Soap and Candle making classes in the lobboy of the Lodge this year.  Stay tuned for details!

Lutsen Resort has an Outdoor Guide on their staff this year.  The activities which the Guide will lead throughout the weekend are hiking trips, a X-Country ski trip, and a driving tour of the area.

• Hiking and X-Country Skiing will be in the local area. You will need your own XC Ski equipment, see the Playing in the White Stuff page for rental outlets.

• The driving tour will be in the Lutsen Tour van (seats 11-12).  The itinerary has not been announced, however it will possibly involve going to Cross River in Schroeder for local legend and history.

Join us for the 1st ever MPA Lutsen Art Workshop!  Bring your own sketch pad and favorite medium (pen, pencil, charcoal, crayon, pastel, watercolor, etc.) then let those creative juices flow.  With the breathtaking natural scenery and picturesque lodge, you should be truely inspired.  There is no prerequisite for this mind expanding experience.  We will meet at breakfast to discuss details.  Plans are to draw what we see looking from the front windows of the lodge  (covered bridge, lake, trees, Poplar Rive, Lake Superior, deer, snowflakes.)  No age or gender requirements.  Please check the schedule for exact time and place for this event.

Many of the activities during the weekend are self directed.  We have listed a few of the available opportunities below.  The scheduled activities in some of these areas are listed on the schedule information page.  Pursue in as many, or as few, as you like!

• Grand Marais – Lunch, gallery and boutique shopping.
• Temperance River State Park - A beautiful, natural phenomenon that is located just 10 miles south of Lutsen Lodge on Hwy 61.  The river, over millions of years, has carved out beautiful ribbon shaped gorges as its path eroded the lava formations.
