Purchase your tickets ahead of time “on line” and save yourselves time and money.   Last year the deadline for the early discount was November 15th, so please watch the web.

THE INFORMATION BELOW IS FROM 2003 AND IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE FOR 2004:

The MPA race is 10 – 12 am on Saturday.  Look for much the same format as last year.  Bill is working with the mountain personnel to allow both skiers and snow boarders to race the course.  If things work out, the course will again be more of a GS (Giant Slalom) format: one that will be longer, utilizing more of the mountain, with more gradual turns.

Cross-country outings are being arranged with the generous help of Ted Moores and Janny Padelford, parents of Morgan.

For those of you who are  interested and would like to get some pre-weekend instruction, Janny and Ted have graciously offered to take people cross country skiing near their home prior to the Lutsen weekend .  Tentatively, the weekend prior to Lutsen is when they would like to arrange the outing, which is dependant on snow conditions.

Equipment Rental

 If you don't rent your equipment in town before heading north, there are several places to rent upon arrival:
  • Lutsen Rec, Inc. Located on your way up the mountain just minutes from the Lodge.  They have great equipment and you can go over there on Friday (before 5:00 pm) so you're all set to ski on Saturday. Go to http://www.lutsenrec.com/ for rates and details.
  • Lutsen Mountains offers rentals right at the foot of the hill.  They have many package deals (lesson/rental, etc.) listed on their web site as well as on-line reservations.  Note: They can be REAL busy on Sat. morning.  Rates and details are at  http://www.lutsen.com/winter/rates_packages/rate_card.cfm.
  • Lutsen Resort has approximately 20 pairs off x-country skis and 6 pairs of snow shoes available for half or full day rental.  We don't know the condition they are in, or any other details.  Please check with Lutsen resort directly.
