The details of earning the William Hill Poker bonus money can be difficult to figure out, but we’ll describe it to you in simple terms.

Before we begin, open your new poker account with the William Hill Promotional Code “1250FREE” as seen below:

You must deposit £625 or $1,000 to receive the maximum 200% welcome bonus of £1250/€1400/$2000.

Cash bonuses are then given to players based on WHPoints achieved while playing the real-money cash games and poker tournaments at WilliamHill.com. WH Points are achieved based on the amount of rake collected at each poker hand. William Hill player points are also earned when tournament fees are paid by the poker player. You must play in the hand at the cash table (by calling the hand, etc) or buy in to a tournament to collect player points.

The amount of rake taken at cash games or the buy-in of the poker tournaments or Sit-n-Go’s established the number of William Hill points given to players.

You need to achieve 350 William Hill player points to get credited a $5 bonus. Because WilliamHill.com explains its bonus in $USD, we’ll stick with that currency for our examples.

The William Hill Poker bonus is awarded in $5 chunks, up to the total amount of $2,000. So you can earn 400 individual payments of $5 apiece, so you would need to earn a total 140,000 WHPoints to receive the entire $2,000 or £1250 bonus.

You have 60 days to cash out as much of the bonus as possible. Or all of it. You are in control!

So exactly how are the points earned?

Regarding MTT and SnG play, 45 points are awarded for each £1 of tournament fee paid. See the table below for all currencies:

Tournament FeesPoints Awarded
$130
£145
€139

With regards to cash games, William Hill points are distributed based on the Rake Range at a particular ring game and the WH Points chart becomes much more convoluted. See the detailed chart over here on this William Hill Promotional Code page. But for a quick example, you collect 1.5 WHPoints if the rake is £0.20, 9 points if the rake is £1.00, and 36 points if the rake is £3.00.

Most new players will wonder, how many hours of playing poker to earn my free £1250? Of course, this all depends on the stakes you play, the number of players at the table, the average pot size, etc.

But we can estimate this using the following scenario of playing the £200 NL, £1-£2 blinds 10 player table. We will assume an average pot size of £20.00 which is pretty typical for these stakes. Playing this particular game, the rake would be £0.05 for every £1.00 in the pot, so if the pot size is £20.00, the rake would be £1.00.

This means the poker player has earned 9 William Hill poker points for participating in the hand with a £1.00 rake. Now, the typical online poker player can play about 70 hands per hour, so the player could potentially receive 630 William Hill poker points per hour sitting at this particular table. Achieving the mandatory 140,000 WH Points to receive the full £1250 bonus would require about 222 hours of poker!

222 hours of poker sounds like too much but it really isn’t once you start multi-tabling. William Hill allows you to play up to 16 tables simultaneously. And remember William Hill Poker allows the new player a 60-day window to earn as much of the welcome bonus as possible!

When comparing the ease of earning this bonus to other online poker welcome bonuses, it ranks as EXCELLENT. To earn $1 in bonus, you would have to earn 70 William Hill poker points, or pay $2.33 in tourney fees. Both Poker Stars and PartyPoker have a ratio of 3:1, or you must spend $3.00 in tournaments fee to earn $1 in bonus, so the William Hill Poker bonus is much easier to cash out.

William Hill also offers various other advantages such as freerolls for new depositors, a VIP club that can reward even more cash bonuses, and much more.
